Meet Your Hosts

Your hosts, Cher and her children Devon and David, started Stephenson Point Seaside B&B in 2005 because they wanted to share their beautiful home and they love meeting new people. All three are globe-trotters having visited Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and South America. Next on their list is a road trip across Canada! They look forward to sharing travel stories over a cup of tea on the deck.

Cher is a part-time teacher and has discovered long ago that if you find something you love to do, then you’ll never work a day in your life. When she’s not pampering our guests, you can find her relaxing in the gazebo at the water’s edge or hiking with her friends along the many trails around Nanaimo. Several years ago Cher was motivated to take a course at Vancouver Island University specializing in Bed & Breakfast management because opening her own B&B has been a dream of hers for many years. Cher is also an Edgewood Insite Program Alumni and is often invited to present to new classes to share her story.

David is an outdoorsman at heart. Whether he’s camping in Pachena Bay, fly fishing at Nanaimo River, rock climbing in Horne Lake, or surfing in Tofino, David is always up for a good time. He’s our resident handy-man and makes sure everything is in good working order.

Devon is full of energy and always up for an adventure. She spent a month in Chile and Argentina back-packing from the Atacama Desert to the crashing waterfalls of Iguazu. She’s looking forward to kayaking in the Bay this summer with her mum and hopefully a few guests!
